GUINNESS COOK-OFF

We all know that Guinness is great!
That this tasty Gaelic beverage can cure all ills,  
lift your spirits and  put a smile on the sourest face.
But we at Celtic Bayou Festival think there is another perfect purpose for this
dark flavorful creamy delight...why cooking of course!

So come see Cajuns, Creoles, Celts, Chefs, Cooks and canaille culinary Couyons and join us for "The Great Guinness Cook-Off" and show us what ya got!
 

Load in time begins at 8:00am on March 11th.  Prizes will be awarded for 1st, 2nd, 3rd and taster's choice.  Big thanks to Guinness for prizes.  Winner will be announced at Main Stage at 5:00pm.  Look to our rules for more info. 
Guinness will provide cans of Guinness draught to each team when they arrive at morning check-in.

Prizes:
1st place (Grand Prize) - $250.00 plus a gift basket from Guinness filled with Guinness products!
2nd place - $175.00
3rd place - $100.00
Taster's Choice - $50.00

Grand prize winning team also receives a perpetual trophy designed and made by Bayouland Trophies.  This perpetual trophy is then returned after 1 year for the 2017 cook-off and 2016 winners will receive a plaque to keep.

RELEASE AND WAIVER OF CLAIMS: In consideration of the Louisiana Celtic Connection (“LCC”) and Celtic Bayou Festival’s (“CBF”) acceptance of Applicant’s entry into the Guinness Cook-Off taking place March 11, 2017 on the premises of Parc Putnam at the location of Lafyette St. Lafayette, Louisiana, and for other good and valuable consideration, the undersigned Applicant, intending to be legally bound, does hereby waive release and forever discharge for himself, his heirs, successors, or assigns any and all rights and/or claims for damages to person(s) or property, whether known or unknown or existing now or arising in the future, which applicant may have against the LCC/CBF event participants and sponsors, and/or any of their respective agents, employees, successors or assigns as a result of injuries or damages suffered by applicant arising out of or in any way appertaining to the subject event whether during the event, prior thereto, or following the conclusion thereof including damages suffered as a result of any defect in the event premises whether known or unknown, latent or hidden. For the same consideration recited herein above applicant does hereby further agree to defend, hold harmless, and indemnify the LCC/CBF and the city of Lafayette, event participants and sponsors, and/or any of their respective agents, employees successors or assigns from any and all claims made by any person as a result of the intentional acts, negligence or other fault of applicant, its employees, agents, assigns, fellow team members or any other person assisting applicant with the subject event; as a result of any defect in or malfunction of the equipment or booth used by applicant; and/or as a result of any person’s consumption of food or beverages served by applicant at the subject event. Applicant agrees that their online submission of their entry form for the Guinness Cook-Off will act as their signature of acceptance of the terms contained. Applicant further states that they are of lawful age and legally competent to agree to this Release and Waiver, understands that the terms herein are contractual and not a mere recital, and that they have agreed to the terms of this Release and Waiver of their own free act and with the knowledge that they hereby agree to release and waive their legal rights. Applicant further agrees that if any provision of this Release and Waiver is found to be unenforceable or invalid, that provision shall be severed from this agreement and the remainder will then be construed as though the unenforceable provision had never been contained herein.
